Andrés Moreira, developer at Insophia, is an advanced student in Computer Engineering at Facultad de Ingenieria - Universidad de la República, an opensource evangelist and a Linux user since 1999. He has more than 5 years of experience in the field of Software Development. In the past, he worked developing enterprise applications for the insurance industry using mainly Microsoft Technologies and other marketing and advertisments applications (ad servers, mailing applications, marketing tools) using PHP/Java/mysql/postgresql and Linux. In the recent years, he started working in datawarehousing and datamining, using first SQL with OLAP engines and Reporting Services, and now using the Hadoop Stack with Scala and Python. Andrés started using and preferring the Python programming language since 2003. He's an active member of the opensource community, contributing in different manners. Also, He's a blogger since 2004 and an amateur Photographer.
